Good morning to our Bloggers! I ran up to the camera this morning (in the video above) and took a nice jog because my hip feels so good. Why is that important with today’s blog? Because today I want to talk about dairy, and its effects on inflammation; inflammation in the joins, and the gut. I was not a believer, I was a “hater” with this. I suffered with hip pain for 7 years, did a whole lot of treatments with no change. Well, about 6-8 months ago, I stopped with dairy. I stopped eating ice cream, cheese, you name it, it’s all gone. Within a month, my hip pain was gone and I was able to run 4 miles. The big thing is that after the 4 miles, the next day I could actually walk. Prior to, that, it was not happening. I was running 4 miles but I was out for another month. So what is the importance behind this story? We find that not everyone has this dairy sensitivity.We find that people with chronic inflammatory states or have autoimmune diseases like R.A. (rheumatoid arthritis), lupus, you name it, that if they consume dairy, it can be inflammatory to the gut and perhaps, to the joints. Here at Missing Link PT, we see some of these individuals who do all types of treatment without really that huge change and they seem to be in this fishbowl of where they cannot get out of this pain state. Well, we decided to take certain foods out of their diet like dairy in order to decrease that inflammation. Guess what? We saw that change. So today, I want to challenge my reader or listener that if you have some type of inflammation that has not gone away be it in your joints, gut, fatigue, I challenge you to take dairy out of your diet for two weeks. Now, with the removal of dairy, you can still get your calcium from your vegetables or so on AND you can also drink milks like coconut milk, almond milk, or even rice milk.
